Chelmsfords Best Local Plastering Service
Throughtout the years, we have always aimed to be the most reliable plastering company in Chelmsford. Our team always tries to make sure every customer is happy with the job. Because we have over 30 years experience plastering, we can (and will) take on all types of plastering jobs, whether they are difficult or easy.
Transparency is also a major componant in our company. We always ensure everything is layed out to avoid any hidden costs. This is done by sending over a quote via text, so you know how much labour and materials is going to cost.
Not only does this give you complete transparency, but also means you know where you stand, which we believe is very important for customers; whether the job is big or small!
We also understand how important it is to schedule a ‘fast’ quote. Nobody want’s to be waiting around for somebody to get back to them, right!? In the rare instance we miss your call, we will get back to you in a few hours.
However, we always try our best to answer your call (even when we have plaster on the wall!) and rarely miss any. You can even call us on Saturdays and Sundays and we can answer the phone and discuss your plastering project.
Our Plasterers In Chelmsford Care About You
There’s good and bad plastering companies out there, and we believe a good service is what makes the difference. Every job that we take on is just as important to us and it is to you.
As you probably know, no two jobs are the same. Some people require a plasterer for rough walls, and some people need a plasterer for cracked walls. Our approach varies depending on what you need.
For example, if you have a crack in your ceiling, it may not need to be plastered; only filled. With other ceilings it may need to be replastered, depending on the type of ceiling.
Our promise is that we will never get you to pay for unnecessary work. Reputation and customer relationships means more to us than money after many years of transforming people’s homes!
This is because we have pride is what we do and enjoy the process of helping people renovate their homes.

FAQ
Most frequent questions and answers
How Much Does Plastering Cost?
The cost of chelmsford plasterers can vary significantly depending on a number of factors, including the size of the area to be plastered, the condition of the surface to be plastered, and the complexity of the job. If you want a quote on your plastering job, give us a call today to schedule a visit!
How Long Does Plastering Take?
A small room (such as a bathroom) can typically be plastered in a day, while a larger room (such as a living room) may take several days to plaster. It is important to keep in mind that plastering is a labor-intensive process, and the plasterer will need to take breaks to rest and properly mix the plaster. It is always a good idea to discuss the scope of the project and get a timeline from the plasterer before the work begins. Plastering over artex can also take a little longer due to the preperation.
How Long After Plastering Can You Paint?
After plastering, it is important to allow the plaster sufficient time to dry and cure before painting. The amount of time this will take will depend on the thickness of the plaster and the humidity and temperature of the room. In general, you should allow at least 24 hours for the plaster to dry before painting. However, in some cases, it may take up to several days or even a week for the plaster to fully dry and cure. It is always a good idea to consult with the plasterer or follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for drying times before painting.
What is the difference between skimming and plastering?
Plastering is typically used to create a smooth, even surface on a wall or ceiling, or to repair damage to an existing plaster surface. Plastering requires more time and skill than skimming, as the plaster needs to be properly mixed and applied in a thick layer.
Skimming, on the other hand, involves the application of a very thin layer of plaster to a surface, typically over existing plaster or drywall. Skimming is often used to smooth out minor imperfections or to create a seamless transition between different types of surfaces, such as plaster and drywall. Skimming requires less time and skill than plastering, as the plaster is applied in a thin layer and does not need to be mixed.
In general, skimming is a faster and less expensive option than plastering, but it may not be suitable for repairing more significant damage or creating a completely smooth, even surface.
Are You Guys Clean & Tidy?
First, we make sure to clean up any plaster dust or debris that may have accumulated during the course of the job. This is done using a vacuum cleaner, dustpan and brush, or damp cloth. In addition, we also cover any furniture or flooring with protective sheeting to prevent plaster dust from settling on these surfaces.
Next, we inspect the work area to make sure that everything is in its proper place and that the plastering work has been completed to your satisfaction. Any tools or equipment that were used during the job are properly stored or returned to their designated location.
Finally, we do a final sweep of the work area to ensure that it is clean and tidy. This may include wiping down surfaces, sweeping or mopping the floor, and taking care of any other tasks that are necessary to leave the area clean and presentable.
Why Does Plastering Crack?
We get lots of calls from people explaining that their ceilings or walls are beginning to crack. Customers want to know why this is happening, so here is the answer:
Most walls and ceilings begin to crack with age. Ths is natural and not something you can prevent over a long peroid of time. If you have recently had your house plastered and it has started cracking, this may be because it dried out too quickly.
That’s why we always recommend that people keep their heating off for 5 days in the rooms that have been plastered.
The most important thing is to look out for are cracks that are discoloured, as this can mean you may have water damage.
